When Should I Take the ACT?
Register for the earliest available test date so you can submit your score in time to make college application deadlines.
We recommend taking the test in December or the spring of your junior year. Testing at these times ensures you’ve learned enough in the classroom to take on the test but leaves plenty of time for retesting to boost your score.
Start studying now to be ready for fall and winter tests. It takes about three months to properly prepare for the ACT.
